In the middle of the charming old town of Škofja Loka, where history intertwines with art, Anja Musek creates – a designer, artist and craftswoman who, under the brand AMUSE, writes her unique story in wool. Her works are a tribute to tradition, but at the same time a subtle interpretation of modernity. Each piece she creates carries within itself the silence of the handicraft process, the story of natural materials and a perfect sense of aesthetics.
Handmade creation in the spirit of nature
Anja Musek creates her products using the wet felting technique – one of the oldest forms of textile processing, requiring patience, precision and a sense of the material. Her products include wearable pieces such as scarves, bags, clothing and jewelry, as well as decorative items for the home: pillows, vases, lamps, dishes. Each product reflects her characteristic minimalist style and love of nature.
In his creations, he uses only the highest quality natural materials: wool, silk, linen, hemp, even nettle fibers - materials that breathe, age with elegance, and bring softness and warmth to the home.
From landscape architecture to textile art
Interestingly, Anja's creative path initially took a different direction - as a landscape architect, she explored space and nature from a different perspective. But it was nature that was the connecting element that led her to the world of textiles. Through education and research, she discovered felting, her chosen path of expression.
She upgraded her knowledge at the DUO Škofja Loka Craft Center and today she is happy to share it at workshops and training courses, inspiring new generations of creators.
Recognitions that confirm mastery
Anja's dedication to quality and craftsmanship has not gone unnoticed. In 2014, she received the 'Art & Craft – Slovenia' certificate of excellence for all her products, and in 2024, she was awarded the honorary title 'Recognized Handicraft' by the Chamber of Crafts and Entrepreneurship of Slovenia based on the assessment of an expert committee.
She actively participates in various groups and initiatives: she is a member of the Contemporary Textile Center Kreativnica, the Škofja Loka Handicraft Center, and the international platform VAWAA (Vacation With An Artist), where she shares her knowledge and art with visitors from all over the world in the form of creative vacations.
